The seminar introduces students to key multi-media modern and contemporary Native American artists to highlight their contributions, understand their background and cultural and production contexts. The course aims to highlight, question, and assess why Native American artists of recognized trajectory remain relatively invisible within the American art world, especially considering current efforts focused on achieving greater diversity and inclusion in the field.
