Design Seminar 1 introduces graduate students to a range of theoretical frameworks that contextualize the evolving concept of “Dynamic Media.” This seminar serves as a space for collaboration, conversation, and critical reflection. Through readings, written responses, class discussions, and presentations, we will explore the social, technological, political, and aesthetic ideas shaping contemporary dynamic media practice.
Students will apply this understanding to their personal research processes, guided by instructors but tailored to each student's studio practice and theoretical interests. By the end of the term, students in Design Seminar 1 are expected to demonstrate the ability to engage with complex theoretical concepts, integrate new ideas into their studio practice, and chart new directions for their future graduate projects.
